Donations can be public or anonymous, with or without an account. Custody of funds is traced to the recipient.
No guarantees, open doors
Mathvsmyth does not guarantee donations: they come from the community that watches and learns. But a proper record opens doors for the future, even when it is not money.
Not everything is money
Knowledge is also sustained with tools and time. Every publication can receive:

Collaboration notes (visible waiting list)
Besides donating, you can leave a collaboration note: who you are, what you can do, and why you want to collaborate. Example: “I'm a lawyer, I want to be part of it: I can review contracts pro bono — contact me when you can.”
Some causes will have huge lists and others won't: the board reveals where the human energy is. When user accounts arrive, these notes become the cooperation board.

Every user can publish their list of what they can donate — money, equipment, telescope hours, their professional talent — and what their project needs. Cooperation between users and projects becomes visible in one place: whoever seeks a lawyer, a microscope, or a programmer finds them here. Declared design: the board arrives with user accounts.
Qualified talent, verified identity
Lawyers, scientists, teachers: donating talent requires proving who you are. The Mathvsmyth certificate for professionals shows three seals: self-declared (who you say you are), sealed document (your credential privately sealed with a date — the sensitive document is never published), and public anchor (cross-checked against public registries: bar associations, universities, ORCID). Every verification carries an expiry date and is renewed; the collaboration history stays visible, because ethics is measured too. Declared design.
To receive donations
Whoever wants to receive donations completes all identity levels and earns the Mathvsmyth certificate: it enables donations and identity verification. That is how the community knows there is a real, responsible person behind the idea.
Protection rule: only accounts with a visible project, contribution, or publication can receive monetary donations. No footprint on the platform, no donations: this keeps the system from being used to move money without cause.

Red flags: an account with no publications or details, newly created, vague answers, or pressure to donate now.
