Mathvsmyth.com is a platform with a plan toward education, science and theory. Everything published here exists to teach, learn and verify. These rules protect that plan.
Education and science first
Every publication must contribute to knowledge: an idea, a correction, evidence, or a well-asked question. Noise is not the plan.
Disagree yes, attack no
Zero tolerance for aggressive language: insults, profanity, bullying, racism and discrimination. Criticize the idea, never the person.
Different paths, same result
It is proven that different methods lead to the same result. A scientist in New York may see it differently than a student in Australia: both views count if they come with respect and evidence.
How to correct well
Every correction carries evidence or reasoning. An "it's wrong" with no why is not a correction: it is noise.
Validity is measured in percentage; there can be more than one 100% valid method. Most things here are mathematical, measurable and analyzable: truth by convergence.
Whoever corrects with respect is recorded in the attribution chain — with name or pseudonym, today or in the future. Correcting is also creating knowledge, and it also deserves support.
Evolution of ideas without blocking
Public comments on publications cannot be blocked: critique, correction and refutation always stay visible. Blocking a correction would block the idea's evolution — and that is not allowed.
Person-to-person private messages can be blocked: nobody is forced to receive what they don't want in their inbox.
The flow is simple: you publish → you get corrected in public → you reply → if there's interest, you move to a private collaboration thread. The idea evolves in full view; privacy is a choice.
Moderation
The administrator can edit, recategorize or remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend repeat accounts.
The administration exists to care for knowledge, not to censor ideas. No idea is removed for being unpopular; only for breaking the rules.
Honest judge in the beta: until full community measurement exists, the administrator operates the scale by applying these public rules. Administration is a temporary trust, not a throne: every removal or suspension can be questioned against these written rules.
